Approx. 900x444x447x450 cm, installation, sound, transparent plastic cloth, blue orb, chlorine, 2008.
This work is based on the idea of a pool. At approximately eye level (1.65 m.) the area is separated into two parts with clear plastic: below and above water. A blue orb is positioned in the centre of the space; it symbolizes water and yet holds possible connotations of other definitions (e.g. the color of the sky). Due to the lighting of the space, by daylight entering through tall windows, the installation reveals a complete different feel at nighttime than at daytime. Using a sound effect processor, distorted sound is being heard (from another exhibition hall next to where the work is located), which may be associated with the way that sound appears under water. As final touch it contains a smell of chlorine.
